Hi, I am looking for a bed platform without a headboard. Does anyone know where we could buy one or maybe get someone to make one? I only seem to find the whole bed, or divan beds but they are very tall (high). Any ideas? Thanks ;)

There are a number of furniture makers who I am sure would be more than willing to make the bed to your design. A bed may not cost that much to make http://www.furniture.ie/directory/Furniture_Companies/Irish_Furniture_Makers/index.html The link above has a good selection of furniture makers

Also just to let you know that you should consider haveing enough money left to buy a decent mattress. I have tried the memory foam one recently and was quite impressed. Thanks, LIsa

I reckon that between 600 and 700 any furniture maker should be able to make something to those designs. I do recommend going for the larger 5ft king size bed as a minimum. A Memory foam mattress cost approx around 1500 for this. Check the depth of the foam on the mattress and that it is visco elastic foam that is used. Generally the are made from different layers of foam, with the top layer being visco foam. Thanks, Lisa Thanks, Lisa

hi a memory foam mattress from fitzpatrick furniture in navan that is visco elastic in 5' is only €699 it comes vacuum packed in a box so you can take it away with you in your car. it also is hypo allergenic as the outer covering can be zipped off and washed. it is called the laytec mattress. i work there my name is alison. a cheaper alternative is to buy a cheap mattress and buy a 2" layer of memory foam to sit on top of this. it works the exact same as the full mattress. these come in at around €250. i highly recommend both of these especially if you have a bad back
