I think that a Stone or brick fireplace adds so much more to the room or house. You do need to allow about 2000 to 3000 to get a really nice job done Milo

We got our fireplace in <a href="http://www.fantasticfireplaces.ie">Fantastic Fireplaces</a>

Bridget (I think is the co-owner) is a very helpful woman, I ordered on saturday and they were ready to install it for Monday!!!! because I was in a hurry. (And they had it in stock)

We got a stone and marble one for a fairly decent price, the best we've seen so far.

I recommend their customer service and prices. Very pleased.

When going for a good value fireplace it is best to keep it simple... because I've seen some pretty bad imitation fireplaces out there especially the ones that tend to come from the back of a van.

You could probably try www.ebay.ie or the .co.uk version may be better. Thanks, Richard www.furniture.ie

Hi there. I spent ages and ages and ages on this! Fire Places Direct in Drogeda was the clear winner on price, service and range of styles. There are just off the motorway so not too far from Dublin (but thru a pile of turns). You'll find it! Lamartine on the Ballymount Road in Walkinstown has a fab showroom and great service but is a little more high end. Basically you pay for what you get. I ended up getting mine in Lamartine because i wanted that style and they were fab. Havng said that Fire Places Direct is still the best pricewise, they just didn't have my exact one. All the best, Ally.

PS If you hurry and order (usually 50% deposit) by the end of Jan you will make the sale prices. Fire place shops don't usually have sales outside of Jan. Average saving is 150 - 300 Euro. But be sure it's what you want! Ally
