I'm inclined to agree with the other comments. Before buying from IKEA, I suggest you Google something like IKEA "kitchen nightmare" and then decide. Not all happy endings. Besides, it is recognised that IKEA are not the masters of everything they do and what you end up with is a kitchen that looks like your neighbours and that looks just like all the others. A purpose designed and built kitchen from an established PROFESSIONAL kitchen company would be a better option in terms of being designed and built for YOUR specific needs and just might work out at a better price than you think.
Well, that's my opinion on the subject.
Good luck.

Hi there,
I recently bought an IKEA Kitchen and got a carpenter to fit it for me, I have to say i have no complaints and my kitchen is different which is what i wanted, i would highly recommend it they have lots to choose from with lots of novelty extras and i saved a fortune .
Carpenters name is Les and is number is 0879017594, he was very good, had lots of ideas and wasn't expensive.
Best of luck with your kitchen what ever you decide.

Unfortunately, most of the people posting here have only experienced their Ikea kitchen for one or two years. The kitchens are only built to last 3!!!
There are other more reliable sources out there for cheap designer kitchens.

Hi,
as a full time kitchen fitter I have to agree with the comments above. It is far better value for money to buy from a local supplier.
But if you must buy from a mulitinational make sure you use a qualified kitchen fitter. Sorry guys but a carpenter is not a qualified kitchen fitter. Its like getting a doctor to pull a tooth!
The best place on line to find any qulified tradesperson is onlinetradesmen.ie . They are the only ones who use fully qualified trades people, I am a member myself as a fitter in the Cork area and had to send in my actual qualifcations. The other trade web sites are just money making opperations.

I agree. With a local provider you always have comeback and good customer service. If you want a list of kitchen suppliers in your county go to www.kitchenindex.ie. I found it great and lots of information on kitchen design as well.
Best of luck
