December 13th has being selected as the official date for the opening of IKEA’S new 29,000sq m store on the outskirts of east Belfast. No date has being set for the opening of the Dublin IKEA store, it is also unclear when construction will begin. The first sod turned on the Belfast site was by Belfast City Lord Mayor, Pat McCarthy on Friday 26 January 2007.
