Just came across this forum.
RE: the wardrobes.......very handy to know as we found Sliderobes very expensive for what we want. Have you tried out these suggestions and if so, how do they compare on price. I'd just like an idea on how they will shape up.
I will certainly make a few calls tmw. Best of luck with it!

I agree, sliderobes are very expensive, but then when you compare the quality and service to other companies, they definately come out tops. We can't believe how much extra space we have -

I have checked out the sliding wardrobe companies in Galway and by far SlidersDirect is the best for service, quality and price. They have a smaller showroom that the others and are a newer company but the quality and fitting is of an impressively high standard.
They are in Hidden Valley (left after Argos on the Headford Road). All you need at the end of the day is a professional service with good quality and a good price. I got it with these guys.

I'd recomend LOMI Design, Baldoyle, Dublin 13 for great modern wardrobes.
See their website at www.lomi.ie well worth a look. Great choice and their design service is brilliant. On the expensive end but really worth it.

Can anyone let me know the approx. cost of an average 3 door wardrobe fitted. -
- CommentTimeMay 17th 2006
i would expect a guide of €1500 to €2000 to cover you on this, it does vary though depending on the choices of materials. -

Hello everyone, I own a custom closet company over here in the States and have a couple of questions.
1) Do you see any wire closet shelving in closets, especially new home construction?
2) Are all wardrobes fitted with full height doors?
3) What is the average depth for a wardrobe system?
4) Are there any franchise closet companies ie. California closets in Ireland?
5) Where is the greatest growth in the new home market -Counties?
I am actually thinking of moving my business to Ireland in the future....have family in Armagh-Louth area. Any info would be greatly appreciated. P.S. Is there anyone suppling retractble screens (like a roman shade) to keep flys and insects out of the house? Heard there are no screens with windows over there.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Hi Trish,
There is a new place in Right Price Tiles on the Naas Road which is cheaper than Sliderobes (which is quite expensive). Also, Harvey Norman has a really reasonable range (price range under €1K).

This company has its wardrobes in shops all around Ireland. I bought a walk in corner robe, a 6.5 foot slide robe which is nearly ceiling height, and two other robes for my own house. The slide robe I'd got has three hanging bars and extra shelving, fitted for under €900. They were a great buy so I'd try them first. 01 8169477 -

Hi dear helpful people,
I'm stuck with a slightly odd kind of a problem, hoping someone could direct me towards a solution - i have a built-in wardrobe, however the design is stupidly impractical - the middle section is an "L-shape", meaning there is enough depth behind the hanging rail only in half of the section, the other half is "cut into" by the chimney... I am trying to get L-shaped shelves for that section of the wardrobe, but no luck so far.... Contacted the makers themselves, but i got the impression they aren't willing to bother with this, even though all i asked for was the shelves - i'm quite up for fitting them myself.... Their reluctance turned me off even calling another place, cos maybe there is hassle in this kind of a job that i fail to understand.... :?

Hello everyone!
RobeDesign Sliding Wardrobes in Tullamore, Co. Offaly (Tel: 05793-28763) are an excellent sliding wardrobe company. I had a mirror sliding wardrobe fitted by them last year. I got several quotes from sliding wardrobe companies around the Laois, Offaly and dublin area and RobeDesigns prices and quality standards were unbeatable. (by Far!!!) Was very pleased with the overall service and product
Im planning on getting them back out soon as im converting my attic to an office and need lots of storage...i was very impressed at their CAD designs for dormer sliding wardrobes. Here is the link to the website : www.sliding-wardrobes.net

I'm looking for a pivot or sliding door (frame approx 6.6 height, 2.6 width) not for a wardrobe, but for a bathroom entrance, since I'm stuck for space in opening the door in or out.
I'm living in Galway. I did get a quote from a glass company for a door but it was at the laughable price of €2250 - this is a regular door size in a regular apartment, not some Grand Designs house with a bottomless budget!!
I'd appreciate any pointers on this - it doesn't have to be glass, it can be wood - I just don't want something that looks like a garden shed or too 1970's etc.

Hi marymg!
In your case (6.6 height, 2.6 width) the price for a sliding door with aluminium frame will be 520E, in steel 315E (that's door with woodefect front). The same door but made from glas cost: aluminium frame -745E, metal frame - 480E. Prices inc. fitting!! Company is located in Newbridge, they are doing wardrobes, beds, walk-in wardrobes.... In your case if you are living around Galway probably they will require a few euro extra for a fuell.. ;)
Regards Peter
