I had a real disaster with my last set of slide robes.........when I got them they only had a "skeleton carcass" which meant they didnt even have backs on them, this was never told to me at any stage and they refused to do anything about it, this was over 12 years ago so when I went to get them for my new house I did my homework.

6 months ago, a friend recommended a company called ABAK Ltd (Award Bedrooms and Kitchens) I had never heard of them and they were difficult to find hidden away in an industrial estate on the Greenhills road, in Walkinstown, Dublin 12 they went through everything with me and gave me all the pros (and cons better still) of all the shoe racks and pull outs. I am absolutely delighted with them. 

They were fitted in half a day with no fuss and the lads even hoovered afterwards, I am really impressed with the high quality finish and the guarantee and they didnt cost the earth!! Definitely phone for a price from them if you live in Dublin and are thinking of getting them they were on 01-4500919

HI!  Im living in Limerick and need to get fitted wardrobes in a bedroom where there is not much depth so need to go for custom made.  I want something practical but not expensive as will probably end up renting this house or selling it four of five years time, I dont think sliderobes will warrant the return on a sale.  Also I do not want mirrored doors as they are too difficult to keep clean.  SHould I approach a reputable carpenter directly or who would you recommend in Limerick.  I want a dark wood, possible walnut finish and I do want some of the fancy storage elements on the inside.

They also have a showroom in Rooskey on the Leitrim / Roscommon border just off the N4 sligo side of Longford.

I tried the komandor sliding wardrobe people based in Right Price Tiles. The were a disaster. Avoid at all costs. My initial consultation lasted a half hour and the guy couldn't use the design software on his computer, he asked me to come back two days later to a different brance. In the interval he emailed me a disign of a wardrobe that I didn't want even tho I had given him a hand drawn plan of what I wanted. We agreed a price and the sent out a rep to measure up. He was two hours trying to measure for a wardrobe 2500mm X1600mm. Then they changed the agreeded price. Very difficult to deal with. I had to ask them to leave my home. Don't use them if you're looking for a stress free job. You'll end up showing them how to complete the job. The wardrobes are made in Poland and shipped to Ireland. Not sure what would arrive after my experience of watching them with measurements and drawings

I used komandor sliding wardrobes and I found them excellent. They came out to the house, measured up and gave me a print out of what my wardrobe would look like, it was fitted within a month and the wardrobe looks great, the fitters wer brilliant at their job. I would definitely advise anyone interested in sliding wardrobes to get a quotation from komandor. They have outlets all over the country, their website is www.komandor-ireland.ie/ they are definitely worth contacting.

In this case I do think you get what you pay for. We contacted most of those referred to and whilst some were more impressive than others no one came close to Sliderobes in terms of service, quality and overall value for money.

Their chap turned up on time, one of the few who did, LISTENED to what WE wanted!, measured up quickly and showed us the look and options on his laptop. Having agreed a price we went for a 12 months interest free option and the unit was fitted perfectly within a fortnight.

There was a 10 year guarantee and the price difference over a 10 year period is negligible. Maybe some of the others would have been as good but we are very happy with our choice anyway.

Try Ken Waters 086 6061571.  He is a Limerick-based cabinet maker and makes custom made furniture as well as fitted bedroom furniture and kitchens.  He is very reasonably priced and will be able to offer you suggestions on storage elements etc.

I have not heard of Classic Sliding robes. Had a look at the web site. It looks o.k. but have a look at LOMI DESIGN in Baldoyle, Dublin. We got lovely Italian wardrobes there. Not cheap but they were worth it. www.lomi.ie

I would recommend Classic Sliding Robes in Dublin 13. I got my Sliding Robe fitted in less than 3 weeks; lads were in and out in half a day. They are currently running a promotion on their Sliding Robes offering great prices and a voucher back; I don’t know when their promotion is due to end there is no date up on web site www.classicslidingrobes.ie

I just found out  the company that makes and supplies nearly all the sliding wardrobe doors for the trade. Might be a good idea to go direct yourself.

My friend did this and they recommended a fitter to her.

Recently my sister got Alan Keenan from Roscommmon town. Very good and very neat work. She got him for her Kitchen and then the Wardrobes. His no is 087 7747692. As far as i know, he does sliding wardrobes aswell.
