The Top Oil Ideal Home Show in the RDS

The Top Oil Ideal Home Show returns to the RDS Simmonscourt this coming October bank holiday weekend, Thursday the 23rd through to Monday the 27th.

Since its inception in 1994 the show has grown to become the largest and most successful home, interior and lifestyle exhibition in the country. Geared towards existing homeowners and those about to step onto the property ladder, this event is the perfect one stop shop offering visitors a comprehensive choice of inspirational, best quality and value for money products available under one roof.

In 2008 The Ideal Home Show will host a number of new and unique features Including the Green Homes Eco Showhouse, Viva L'Italia, The Green Pages Eco Expo and The Pamper Zone. In fact there are almost 300 different suppliers encompassing everything from home improvement ideas, energy saving products to stylish décor. Adding value to the show are a number of bespoke seminars and advice centres that will provide professional expertise on such things as improving your Building Energy Rating (BER), DIY hints and tips, personal makeovers and interior design advice to name but a few.

The Green Homes Eco Showhouse & Garden

Most Irish people today place a high value on their environment and healthy living. This year's eco house will showcase the very best in environmentally-friendly interiors and products.

Renowned interior designer, Sinéad Kelly will design this year's eco showhouse. With a wealth of experience as an interior designer Sinéad brings plenty of expertise and creativity to the project. Sinead is focusing on a sustainable design that seeks a balance between practical needs and harmony with the environment. The interior style will feel natural and tranquil and will marry with the eco-friendly features cleverly incorporated into the design of the house.

The house itself, built by Green Homes, will be an A rated home demonstrating how you can optimise the energy usage through applying a better standard of building practice throughout. All the products used in the construction are sourced from low emission manufacturers or are from recycled materials. In the interior Sinéad has sourced a wide range of products that are again environmentally sound and do not compromise on style.

The Green Pages Eco Expo

With the Government encouraging a move towards energy efficiency the Eco Expo aims to bring together experts that will show you how to improve your building energy ratings, save on bills, reduce your carbon footprint and in general improve your green credentials. There is a great line up of suppliers with products from personal wind turbines to charge mobile phones to some of the most popular low carbon and electric vehicles available in Ireland today.

The Pamper Zone

The Pamper Zone is a health and beauty haven showcasing leading brands and experts who will demonstrate the latest trends and provide treatments for those who just want that little bit of extra tlc. One of the many highlights at the pamper zone will be demonstrations from the famous celebrity nail technician Leighton Denny, the creator of the worlds most expensive manicure, the Diamond nail treatment. The Viva L'Italia Expo

The Viva L'Italia Expo brings together many aspects of Italian culture under one roof for the first time in Ireland.
