The Home That's Also A Shop

Written by Administrator September 14, 2006

The home of Maud Hendricks and her family is very unique. Why? Because it doubles as the shop for Touch Wood. Each room in the house functions as a showroom and living space with most of the items available for sale. This gives people the ability to see what the furniture would be like in a "real-life" context.

Next door is Maud's lock-up, where she stores some of the best examples of old and new furniture from across Europe, when they are not used in the home. Maud has stated that "the absence of the cost of a shop enables us to provide the furniture at wholesale prices. Haggling allowed!"

Touch Wood is about beautiful, well-made, hardwood furniture from sustainable forests at an affordable price, featuring unique pieces from the best continental flea-markets.

Touch Wood is located just off the south circular road and can be seen online at www.touchwood.ie.

It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "home shopping".
