Furniture.ie Founder Wins Prestigious Internet Award
Richard Moyles, founder and managing director of Furniture.ie, scooped the award in the "Internet Entrepreneur" category at the annual Net visionary awards run by the Irish Internet Association (IIA). The winners were announced at a gala function held in the Fitzpatrick Hotel in Killiney, Dublin on November 16th.

Award Critera
The criteria for the award of the Internet Entrepreneur 2006 are for a person to have achieved substantial breakthroughs in building a successful Internet business. He or she must have shown strategic vision and demonstrated impressive tactical abilities in achieving success in a difficult environment. The individual must have built a successful business enabled by eCommerce, within the past two years. There must also be evidence of long-term sustainability in the business.
About Furniture.ie
The highly successful web portal Furniture.ie launched in 2003. It allows users to finds products, services and information for the home. It has over 50,000 visitors each month and in excess of 10,000 members. It is operated by Furntech Ltd., who specialise in developing innovative technology solutions for the furniture industry.
Furniture.ie continues to innovate, adding online tools and information to facilitate the consumer to obtain the right product at the right price and from the right location.
Richard Moyles also established an eCommerce website, Mattress.ie, which was also developed by Furntech. This was among the first furniture eCommerce websites developed in Ireland.
About the IIA
The Irish Internet Association is the professional body for those conducting business via the internet from Ireland. It has been and remains one of the driving forces behind the adoption of the medium. Established in 1997, the IIA provides leadership to enterprises and societies conducting business in Ireland. The IIA is a strong voice for its 400 plus members. The aim of the association is to "connect, inform and promote".
