Please read on for an overview of the new innovations and features that we have added to Furniture.ie.

Search:

On the "new and improved" Furniture.ie, the power to search is never far away.

In the planning phase of our redevelopment, we decided to give our visitors more control over the way they search our site.

Our visitors can now choose to search the entire site at once or limit their search to a single section. Our Site search page contains a tabbed search form with an option to search each of the major areas of Furniture.ie.

For example, if one of our visitors is looking for a particular product; by clicking on the 'Shopping Centre' tab – they can confine their search to the Shopping Centre. Alternatively, if a visitor is looking for advice, then they might want to limit their search to the Community Forum. The contents of the entire site can be searched using the 'Site Search' option.

Shopping Centre:

You spoke, we listened.

Based on feedback from our Members and visitors we discovered that people wanted more products, more retailers and more choice. In response, we have developed an on-line Shopping Centre section. Members and visitors to the site can now browse, compare and buy products from a range of retailers based in Ireland.

Our visitors can compare similar products from different retailers, pick the one they prefer and follow the 'Buy Now' link to purchase the product directly from the retailer's website – no fuss, no middleman, just more choice and a more informed buying decision for our visitors.

Directory:

• We have added a total of 7470 new listings.
• Introduced a new mapping technology which we will be rolling out over the coming weeks.
• "Search anywhere" – A search form has been built into all Directory pages. This feature gives you the opportunity to search for products and service providers in Ireland or in a particular county in Ireland.
• Find services in your area – it’s easy to filter listings in each category by location.
• For each listing in the Directory, our Members can:
  • Write a review
  • Report errors in listings
  • Recommend the listing to a friend and
  • Request a quote or information directly from the listing’s owner.

e-Quest:

Our ever popular service where our members can send a request for furniture to companies in our Retailer Network using a single form submission has not changed.

We are in the process of developing an enhanced version of the service and we look forward to its release over the coming weeks.

Community Forum:

We have simplified the structure of our Community forum and made it easier for our Members to upload content – images, video and text to our forum using an on-line editor.

Get Inspired:

A new mix of design and information resources – we have great plans for our Get Inspired section. What ever your aspirations are, our mission is to provide you with an ever increasing source of inspiration. Our new site gives us the opportunity to easily add new content and accept images, videos and articles from our Members and visitors.

In our Get Inspired section you can:

• Browse inspirational images for decorating ideas for your home, office or development.
• Enjoy loads of glossy suppliers' brochures in PDF format ready for you to download and read at your leisure!
• Get tips and advice for the home, with articles from Furniture.ie experts.
