Self Build In Ireland

A large proportion of the houses in Ireland are what you can call self-build. In fact, Ireland has more self-builders than England, Scotland and Wales altogether. Self-build means you obtain a plot of land, get an architect to draw the plans for you and apply for a planning permission. Then you usually have to hire a constructor to build the house for you or sub-contract out parts of the building process to cut down on your costs. Many people do some of the work themselves.
